It is based on the bestselling novel of the same title, in which author Thomas Hürlimann tells the story of his family and mainly of his father, a former Swiss President. Excellent actors – especially mentioning Bruno Ganz and Marie Bäumer – present to the audience, with their courageoulsy humble performance, a melancholy reflexion on the question of what really matters in life. With “Der grosse Kater”, producer Dietmar Güntsche – who also took part in scriptwriting – and his partner Wolfgang Behr accomplished a coherent and very touching literature adaptation with their first common work.
